| ARTICLE I: NAME AND PURPOSE |

NAME
- The name of the organization shall be Kingsport Volleyball Club.
|
| Section B. |
|
PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization shall be:
- To provide an opportunity for girls to develop their individual and team volleyball skills by playing on a competitive travel team.
- To provide an opportunity for girls to play alongside players of similar age and evaluated ability.
- To provide an opportunity for girls, who do not wish to travel, to play on a non-travel team.

| ARTICLE II: ORGANIZATION |
| Section A. |
|
OFFICERS
- The officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, Club Director, Secretary, and Treasurer.
- The majority of the current board and Executive Board should be a parent or guardian of a KVC player.
- The term of each office shall be for at least one year beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
- The officers shall be elected by the members of the executive committee at a monthly meeting at the year-end of the volleyball season.

EXECUTIVE BOARD
- The executive committee shall consist of the officers of KVC and other representatives listed below.
- Board members shall consist of the following: coaching committee, representative(s) from middle school, representative(s) from high school, and one advisor to the board.
- Board members shall be appointed by the executive committee. The executive board shall appoint additional members as needed to fulfill a specific purpose.
- The term of duty for a board member shall be for at least for one-year beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
- This committee is responsible for the operation of Kingsport Volleyball Club.
- No person who now is, or who later becomes, a member of this board of directors shall be personally liable to its creditors for any indebtedness, liability, or law suite and any and all creditors of the Kingsport Volleyball Club shall look only to the assets of Kingsport Volleyball Club for payment.

| ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP AND DUES |
| Section A. |
|
MEMBERSHIP
- Any female age 10-18 or any boy age 8-12 student living within a 90 mile radius of Kingsport who desires the opportunity to improve their volleyball skills shall have the opportunity to try out.
- There will be 2 different types of tryouts:
- KVC Power/Qualifier Tryouts:
- Team(s) will compete in National Qualifiers
- Selection will be based on ability, age, and position.
- The number of teams in an age group will be directly dependent on the number of players trying out in that age group and their skill level.
- There may be a greater time commitment for these team(s) than for KVC club.
- There will be a higher cost for these team(s) than for KVC Club.
- Those trying out for the Qualifier Team and not making the team will be able to try out for the KVC Club team(s).
- KVC Club Tryouts:
- Team(s) will compete in regional tournament club or power tournaments.
- election will be based on ability, age, and position.
- The number of teams in an age group will be directly dependent on the number of players trying out in that age group and their skill level.
- Players are not guaranteed placement on a club team.
- Players not wishing to travel or whose ability is not at a competitive level may have the opportunity to participate on non-traveling teams.
- The coaching staff has the responsibility of determining player ability and placement on teams.

|
DUES
- The executive board shall set the level of dues for the current year.

| Section C. |
|
DUES PAYMENT
- 1. Membership dues shall be due and payable on a monthly payment schedule set forth by the executive board.
|

| ARTICLE IV: DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS |
In addition to the following duties, it is the responsibility of the officers to attend all possible meetings. |

PRESIDENT
- The duties of the President shall be to preside according to Roberts Rules of Order at all meetings.
- The President may call or schedule a meeting whenever there is a need.
- The President shall preside over the Board meetings.
- The President shall have the authority to appoint any committees deemed necessary.
- The President shall be responsible for ensuring that the Referee/Scorekeeping Clinic is held prior to tournament season so club members are qualified to keep score and referee as required.

VICE-PRESIDENT
-
The Vice President shall fulfill the duties of the President at any time the President is unable to fulfill the duties of the office of President.

The Vice President will also serve as the Director of the Kingsport Youth Volleyball program.
- The Vice-President shall be responsible for ensuring that the club’s website is operational and information remains up-to-date.

|
CLUB DIRECTOR
- The Club Director will be responsible for all communications with the region of the USA Volleyball Association with which the club is currently affiliated.
- Shall be responsible for all player registrations including KVC applications, medical forms and birth certificates as required by KVC and the region.
- Shall be responsible for all KVC team registrations for all USA Volleyball Association tournaments.
- Shall be responsible for providing all KVC coaches with appropriate paperwork for each registered player.
- Shall interface with KVC treasurer on eligibility of members paid.
- Shall interface with coaching committee for placement of players, formation of teams, transferring of players, etc., while maintaining updated rosters.
- The Club Director should be at least a 2 year commitment.

SECRETARY
- The Secretary shall maintain a record of the minutes of any meeting of this organization.
- Shall assist other officers and the executive committee in any secretarial duties as needed.

|
TREASURER
- The Treasurer shall be responsible for the finances of the club.
- The Treasurer shall be responsible for developing an annual budget that must be approved by the Executive Board.
- Shall keep account of all monies received and deposit same in the name of Kingsport Volleyball Club.
- Shall maintain a record of all members’ dues, payments, and scholarships.
- Shall maintain a list of contributors to Kingsport Volleyball Club.
- Shall interface with the Club Director, issuing payments as needed for player and team registrations.

| ARTICLE V: DUTIES OF THE BOARD MEMBERS |
In addition to the following duties, it is the responsibility of the officers to attend all possible meetings. |

COACHING COMMITTEE
- The Coaching committee shall interface with all coaches, addressing their needs.
- The Coaching committee will, be responsible for the formation of the club and power teams as determined by player ability and age. Input from all coaches will be solicited and considered.
- Shall be the liaison between all coaches and the board.
- Shall be responsible for scheduling gyms and practice times for all teams, and securing equipment for such.

SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES

The elective representatives from middle schools and high schools will assume responsibility for the following: fundraising, uniform/other apparel ordering, and year-end banquet.

The representative shall act as liaison between players and the board

ADVISOR TO THE BOARD

The advisor(s) to the board shall act in an advisory position as needed.

| ARTICLE VI: ELECTIONS AND VACANCIES |
| Section A |
|
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
- The nominating committee shall be responsible for executing the process of election of officers. This includes soliciting nominations and presenting candidates.

The president shall appoint the nominating committee, at least two month prior to the end of the season or by March 1st.

The president shall appoint three (3) members of the executive board to be on the nominating committee, one of which shall be the chairperson.

The nominating committee shall submit a list of nominees for each officer position to the executive board prior to the year-end meeting.

The executive committee shall vote on the selection of nominees.

ELECTIONS

Elections shall take place at the year-end annual meeting.

The president shall inform all members at least two (2) weeks in advance of the election meeting.

|
VACANCIES

In the event of a vacancy in the office of president, the vice-president shall preside for the remainder of the year.

The executive committee shall seek input for a candidate from the nominating committee for replacement of other vacant offices. A special election shall be held at a regular meeting of the executive committee, as soon as possible, giving members at least one (1) week notice prior to the election meeting.

The executive committee shall appoint replacements for board members.

| ARTICLE VII: AMENDMENTS TO THE BY-LAWS |

|
BY-LAWS

The executive board may appoint a special committee for the specific purpose of addressing proposed amendments to the bylaws.

Proposed amendments to the by-laws shall be presented to the executive board for approval.

A decision by the executive board shall determine the acceptance or rejection of the proposed amendments.

If approved, proposed amendments to the by-laws shall be presented to the executive committee at a regular meeting. Members shall be informed in advance that proposed amendments to the by-laws will be on the agenda.

Any proposed amendment correctly endorsed shall be presented at a regular meeting for acceptance or rejection by a two-thirds majority of those present.

| ARTICLE VIII: SCHOLARSHIPS |
| Section A. |
|
ELIGIBILITY
-
The Executive Board shall be responsible for awarding all scholarships.
-
Scholarships shall be based on individual need (for example: eligiblity for free or reduced lunch through the school system), as well as availability of funds.
-
Scholarships apply only toward registration and membership dues. Players will still be responsible for additional apparel and travel expenses.

| ARTICLE VI: DISSOLUTION OF CLUB AND ASSETS |

|
DISSOLUTION
- In the event the executive board or the membership of this organization no longer feels the need for the club to exist, the club shall be dissolved by a majority vote of the executive committee.

| Section B. |
|
ASSETS
- In the event this club is dissolved, all assets will be distributed at the discretion of the current officers and board members.
